NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Raiders have some interest in Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, according to one of his sources.
Granted, Rapoport did detail their interest as “on the outskirts”, but does cite the fact that the team has discussed it.
One thing in the Raiders favor is having a large amount of cap space to pay Peterson, which may be necessary if he feels more inclined to go to a team with a better chance at a Super Bowl title.
Peterson, who was reinstated by the commissioner on Thursday from his suspension, is still a Viking and the Raiders would have to trade for him. It’s unknown what the Vikings are asking for, but you would think it would be a high draft pick for a player of his caliber.
We’ll keep an eye out on this story as it develops, if it does.
