Stefen Wisniewski signs with Jaguars

A year ago at this time of the year it looked as if young center Stefen Wisniewski would be a building block for the young Raiders offensive line.

That changed quickly.

The Raiders and Wisniewski failed to reach a contract extension last offseason and were never able to come to terms before this season’s free agency began. Instead, the Raiders went out and signed center Rodney Hudson to a five-year deal for over $40 million.

Free to sign anywhere, Wisniewski signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday to a one-year deal reportedly worth just $2.5 million.

The Raiders could’ve used him as a guard, but it appears wisniewski didn’t want to convert back to guard and wanted to remain a center for another team.
