Khalil Mack donates to his alma mater

Oakland Raiders linebacker Khalil Mack was named to the USA Football 2014 All-Fundamentals Team last december and now he will make a donation with the help of the non-profit organization.

Mack will donate a $1,000 grant to his high school alma mater’s football program, Fort Pierce Westwood High School in Fort Pierce, Fla. The grant will go towards the football team’s equipment and was made through USA Football, the official youth football development partner of the Raiders and the NFL.

Mack was named to the 2014 All-Fundamentals team which honored 26 NFL players - 11 offense, 11 defense and four special teams - who employ proper technique, particularly when blocking and tackling, that fosters inherent safety benefits and better on-field performance. As a result to being named to the team, the second-year linebacker received an equipment grant for $1,00 from USA Football to donate to a youth organization or high school program of his choice.

USA Football trains more 5,500 youth leagues and 750 high schools through its Heads Up Football program, benefiting nearly 1 million young athletes in 2014.
