NFL Network’s Kimberley Jones first tweeted the news this afternoon.
Stevie Brown tells me he's agreed to terms with the Houston Texans. Former Giants safety officially moves on.— Kimberly Jones (@KimJonesSports) April 29, 2015
The Raiders were reportedly among five teams interested in Brown’s services. The Texans weren’t reportedly one of those initial five, but then NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported the team was meeting with him on Tuesday.
Brown was originally drafted in the 7th round by the Raiders in the 2010 NFL Draft before being let go. He would eventually land with the New York Giants and set the interception return record for the Giants in 2012 with 307 return yards.
It appears more and more likely that the Raiders will target a safety at some point in the draft, though likely in the later rounds.
