Raiders select WR Amari Cooper fourth-overall

The Oakland Raiders saw star linebacker Khalil Mack fall to them at fifth overall last year, and this year they had their guy fall to them again.

With Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota going first and second overall, respectively, the Jacksonville Jaguars took linebacker Dante Fowler, Jr. The pick left arguably the best prospect, Leonard Williams, still on the board as well as the best wide receiver prospects in Kevin White and Amari Cooper.

Ultimately, Reggie McKenzie and Jack Del Rio decided to help out their young quarterback by selecting wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Cooper is an instant playmaker in the NFL who has made plays for Alabama for years including winning the Biletnikoff award as a junior last season.

Even with the addition of Michael Crabtree in the offseason, the Raiders needed a playmaker on offense to help their young quarterback. And Cooper is just that.
