SF Chronicle: No surgery for Carr

Much has been made about the Oakland finger injury sustained by starting quarterback Derek Carr, but it appears Raider Nation should not worry.

Carr’s agent, Tim Younger, told the San Francisco Chronicle that surgery is not needed and that he expects his client to be throwing before the end of Offseason Team Activities, and at the start of minicamp at the latest.

ESPN had first reported that surgery was a possibility, but it appears it was only an option if it was severe.

Younger also appeared to emphasize that holding him out has been precautionary.

This is good news for the Raiders and their fans, who were worried about seeing their young quarterback forced to be on the sideline while trying to learn a new system.
