2015 Position Outlook: Linebackers

A look at the Raiders linebackers heading into 2015

2015 Position Outlook: Linebackers

On Roster: Ray-Ray Armstrong, Neiron Ball, Spencer Hadley, Ben Heeney, Curtis Lofton, Khalil Mack, Horace Miller, Sio Moore, Josh Shirley, Malcolm Smith, Chase Williams

Projected Starters: Khalil Mack, Curtis Lofton, Sio Moore

Outlook: The Raiders had a rough go at the linebacker position last year with starting middle linebacker Nick Roach missing the entire season due to concussions. With former linebackers Jack Del Rio and Ken Norton, Jr. at the helm of the defense now, the Raiders significantly upgraded their linebacking corps by signing Curtis Lofton and Malcolm Smith. Lofton is a solid veteran middle linebacker that has had a good offseason while Smith has also looked solid. The coaching staff will look to get all four linebackers on the field, even if that means moving Mack up to DE on third down on occasion. Look for Mack to build on an already impressive rookie season.
