The Oakland Raiders head out on the road for the first time in 2015 to take on the Minnesota Vikings for their second preseason game.
Quarterback Derek Carr will look to build on a solid first week when he finished 6-of-9 for 43 yards in the 18-3 win against the St. Louis Rams. Carr did throw a costly interception in the red zone though when he had some “miscommunication” with rookie wide receiver Amari Cooper.
Cooper will look to continue the strong start to his rookie campaign where he was active early. Running back Latavius Murray also had a nice game, finishing with 35 yards on six carries.
On Defense, the Raiders will face second-year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater who was taken by the Minnesota Vikings before Carr was drafted. Carr earned NFL Rookie of the Year honors last season after starting 12 games and throwing 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while going 6-6 as a starter.
The Vikings will also have Pro Bowler Adrian Peterson back on the field, who missed 15 games last season. Fourth-year player Matt Asiata replaced Peterson last year, posting 570 yards and a team-leading nine touchdowns.
It’s another good test for the Raiders, facing a team that was fighting for the playoffs last season.
