The Oakland Raiders announced they have signed free agent linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, a native of Berkeley.
Alexander is entering his ninth NFL season, following stints with the Washington Redskins (2006-12) and Arizona Cardinals (2013-14). Over his career, Alexander has totaled 111 games played with 16 starts, 154 tackles, nine sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and six passes defensed. The veteran linebacker has put in time as a special teams performer, racking up 94 stops on special teams over his career. In fact, Alexander represented the NFC in the 2012 Pro Bowl for his special teams play when he posted 31 tackles on special teams.
To make room on the roster, the Raiders waived linebacker Horace Miller.
