The Oakland Raiders announced on Tuesday that they have placed veteran defensive end Justin Tuck on the reserve/injured list, ending his season.
Tuck injured his pectoral muscle on a play in the Raiders loss to the Denver Broncos before their bye week. The move leaves a hole for the Raiders on their defensive line. Rookie defensive end Mario Edwards, Jr. will likely see an increase in play as a result of the injury.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders re-signed free agent safety Taylor Mays. This is the third time the Raiders have signed Mays in two months. He is in his sixth NFL season, and the Raiders are his fifth NFL team. The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder has totaled 77 tackles, two passes defensed, one sack, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 69 games.
