The Oakland Raiders signed a new long snapper to their roster

The Oakland Raiders announced on Tuesday that they have signed long snapper Thomas Gafford. 

Gafford played 116 career games fort he Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears after entering the NFL with the Green Bay Packers in 2006. 

The veteran appeared in 105 consecutive games for the Kansas City from 2008-14, collecting 17 special teams tackles and one fumble recovery. He also played in 11 games for the Bears this season before being released on Nov. 28.

The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder was a four-year letterman at Houston, playing in 47 games as the Cougars’ long snapper. He recorded 16 special teams tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

 

In a corresponding move, the Raiders have placed LS Jon Condo on the Reserve/Injured List.

 

Additionally, the Raiders have signed WR Larry Pinkard to the practice squad.
