The Oakland Raiders place safety Nate Allen on injured reserve

The Oakland Raiders have placed veteran safety Nate Allen on the reserved/injured list, the organization announced on Wednesday. The move ends Allen's disappointing first season with the Raiders, playing in just five games and recording just 11 tackles, two passes defensed and one interception.

In addition, the Raiders signed cornerback SaQwan Edwards to the active roster from their practice squad.

Edwards originally signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in May 2015. He was waived by the Raiders at the end of the training camp, but was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 6.

The 6-foot, 200-pounder played three years at New Mexico, appearing in 31 games and totaling 65 tackles, three interceptions and 19 passes defensed.  He played in 12 games in his senior season, racking up 42 tackles with three interceptions and nine passes defensed.
