Despite all of the Tweets from Raider Nation and Bruce Irivin, aka "Baby Reggie", former San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle will not be signing with the Oakland Raiders.
Weddle will reportedly sign with the Baltimore Ravens instead, leaving the void in the Raiders secondary still to be voided after future Hall of Famer Charles Woodson decided to retire.
There are still some solid safeties out there in free agency, including Bengals safety Reggie Nelson. Nelson is a versatily veteran, something head coach Jack Del Rio seems to like in his safeties. The 32-year-old led the league in interceptions (eight) last season.
The Bengals have shown interest in wanting to bring back Nelson, but may have a hard time doing so after signing their other safety, George Iloka, to a five-year, $30 million extension.
We'll see which direction the Raiders decide to go now. Tune in to Silver & Black Report for all of your latest free agency news.
