Scouting Report: Linebacker Darron Lee took over the Buckeyes defense after Ryan Shazier was selected in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He first hit the national stage when he took over the game against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl, receiving Defensive MVP honors with seven tackles, three for loss, and two sacks. Last year he finished with 66 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks on his way to second-team All-Big Ten accolades.
Lee appears to have everything it takes to be a three-down inside linebacker, something the Raiders so desperately need. He is comfortable in space and has solid coverage capabilities, while also the ability to blitz gaps. He's a little small for a linebacker, but that won't stop a player of his ability and competitiveness from contributing right away on a team that needs a middle linebacker.
