The Oakland Raiders released middle linebacker Curtis Lofton earlier in the offseason, but that didn't stop them from waiting until the sixth round to draft an inside linebacker.
The Raiders selected linebacker Colorado State's Cory James in the sixth round (194th overall), making him the newest Raiders. James played outside linebacker until being moved inside this last season. He posted 15.5 sacks combined in 2013 and 2014.
James is athletic in space and accelerates into their tackles. He does have the potential to make the wrong read which will also cause him to be tentative along the way.
The 6-foot, 229-pound linebacker may not be ready to step in and make a big impact right away, but he has the potential to develop and contribute on the Raiders team.
