The Oakland Raiders' overhaul of the roster continued Friday as they claimed defensive back Tramain Jacobs and linebacker Lenny Jones off waivers.
Jacobs comes over from the New York Giants where he played in five games. For his career, he has appeared in eight games and recorded three special teams tackles.
Jones comes from across the Bay where he was originally signed by the San Francisco 40ers as an undrafted free agent in May. He appeared in 50 games (31 starts) over four seasons at the University of Nevada, totaling 149 tackles and 19 sacks (5th in school history). The 6-foot-3, 270-pounder is a Bay Area native and attended nearby San Leandro High School.
To make room for the two new players, the Raiders waived/injured cornerback SaQwan Edwards and waived defensive end Damontre Moore.
Edwards was seen walking gingerly into the clubhouse with a trainer earlier in the week and hadn't returned to the practice field since.
Moore was signed earlier this offseason but was involved in a practice-field scuffle with undrafted free agent running back Jalen Richard on Thursday.
