The Oakland Raiders entered their preseason opener on Friday night missing just three players and hoping to make it through the game without any further injuries.
Unfortunately, defensive lineman Mario Edwards, Jr. went down with what looked like a leg injury in the first quarter.
The second-year lineman was playing in his first game since suffering a neck injury in week 15 of last year that ended his rookie season early.
After tackling Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson, Edwards had to be helped off the field with a trainer and fellow defensive lineman Khalil Mack. According to Jimmy Durkin of Bay Area News Group, he was later carted off of the field and into the locker room.
It's a devastating blow for the Raiders, but even worse for Edwards after going through a season-ending injury last year.
