Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio says quarterback Derek Carr is 'doing well'

Derek Carr 'doing well' as he prepares to return to the field since injuring his leg

Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio took the podium at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis Thursday morning and provided an update on his star quarterback Derek Carr.

Del Rio says his young quarterback is on track for next season.

“He’s doing well. We still have a couple of months before we crank it up," Del Rio said in his press conference. "Yeah, he’s in good spirits. Everything that I’ve seen and heard is on track or even ahead of schedule. We expect a complete recovery and no issues.”

Carr was the leader of the NFL's sixth-best offense and a 12-3 record before breaking his fibula against the Indianapolis Colts in week 16. Instead, the Raiders limped into a Wild Card matchup against the Houston Texans in which they lost.

The Raiders offseason program will begin on April 17 with Organized Team Activities beginning in the end of May.
