Raiders sign Charlton

The Oakland Raiders have signed defensive back Ike Charlton, the team announced today. Charlton, a four-year veteran defender has appeared in 53 league games with one start in four pro seasons.

The 6-0, 205-pound Charlton played in seven contests for the New York Giants in 2003. Prior to joining the Giants, Charlton played in 15 games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2002 where he made 24 tackles and returned 10 kickoffs for 236 yards.

Charlton entered the NFL as a second round selection (52nd overall) of the Seattle Seahawks in 2000 where he spent two seasons before being traded to Jacksonville. In Seattle, he appeared in 31 contests posting a career-high 31 tackles in 2001, including two interceptions for 43 yards with one touchdown and three forced fumbles.
