Raiders Sunday notebook

The Oakland Raiders reduced their practice schedule on the field to just one on Sunday with guards Frank Middleton (calf) and Ron Stone (hamstring) returning to practice without pads. The team had been practicing two times per day.

Both had not practiced since opening day of training camp on Friday. Guard Mo Collins had been taking reps at tackle but took reps at right guard with the starting offensive line Sunday. Brad Badger, who started 11 games at guar last season took some reps at center on Sunday.

Jovial Williams

Tight end Roland Williams, who played for the Oakland Raiders in 2001-2002, is back in more ways than one. Williams should bolster the Raiders blocking at tight end. In addition, he's the same loquacious one as he was in his first stint in Oakland.

That was quite apparent Sunday. After the team finished going 11-on-11, Williams turned to reporters and proclaimed, "Advantage, white shirts!" in reference to the offense wearing white jerseys.

Injury report

The Raiders have placed tackle Joe Wong on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. Tight end David Newman returned to practice after missing two days with a viral infection. Tight end Courtney Anderson left practice with an ankle injury.

Sideline slants

The Raiders worked on red zone situations for a good chunk of practice. … Linebackers Dwayne Rudd and Travian Smith had interceptions of Kerry Collins and Rich Gannon. … Raiders Hall-of-Fame linebacker Ted Hendricks was a visitor at Sunday‘s practice.
