Raiders resign Hamilton

According to an ESPN.com report, the Oakland Raiders and defensive end Bobby Hamilton have reached an agreement to a contract that will become official in the coming days.

The deal is reportedly a three-year contract for $6 million dollars. Hamilton figured to be high on the Raiders priority list in terms of resigning free agents of their own.

Two other teams, besides the Raiders, were reportedly interested in acquiring Hamilton's services. Despite his advancing age, 33, Hamilton is valuable because of his versatility and leadership. Hamilton is capable of playing either end or tackle.

Hamilton came to Oakland last season after signing a free agent contract from New England. Hamilton played in all 16 games, totaling 57 tackles, one sack and three passes broken up.
