Patrick McManamon of the Beacon Journal in Ohio is reporting the Cleveland Browns have been exchanging proposals with Free Agent Frank Middleton, who played with the Raiders in 2001.

Browns coach Butch Davis said that the coaching staff and front office felt that Middleton and Oliver Ross of Pittsburgh were almost equal in ability. The Browns signed Ross to an offer sheet, then turned to Middleton when Pittsburgh matched the offer to Ross. Middleton is a 6-foot-4 and 330-pound guard, who probably would play the right side. He started 11 games for the Raiders last season..
