Strahan coming to Oakland?

The New York Giants are trying to peddle NFL Defensive Player of the Year Michael Strahan to the rest of the league and may have found a potential taker in the Raiders. According to reports, the Giants and Oakland have held preliminary discussions regarding a possible trade between the two teams that would bring Strahan to Oakland.

Strahan, who last year broke the NFL's single-season sack record, has reportedly been upset with the Giants over their failure to offer him a $20 million bonus following his record-setting performance in 2001. Strahan recently broke off talks with the Giants.

According to a report out of New York, the Giants and Raiders have been talking about a possible trade for Strahan. New York allegedly wants both of Oakland's first round draft picks this year while the Raiders have reportedly countered with an offer of a first- and a second-round pick.

No one in either the Raiders nor the Giants front offices could be reached for comment, but this is definitely a situation that bears keeping an eye on.
