Brooks to visit Oakland

Former New Orleans QB Aaron Brooks is under consideration by the Oakland Raiders to replace Kerry Collins.

According to one NFL source, owner Al Davis has a high opinion of Brooks, the deposed Saints starter who is available after being waived after the free agent acquisition of Drew Brees.

Brooks, who turns 30 on March 24, has 82 career starts, all with New Orleans, and has passed for 19,156 yards and 120 touchdowns (a New Orleans record) with 84 interceptions.

The Raiders could represent Brooks' best chance to remain a starter, given the vote-of-no-confidence the franchise issued Marques Tuiasosopo last season and the lack of experience to 2005 third-round draft pick Andrew Walter.

Brooks was benched last year in favor of Todd Bouman for the team's final three games. He is expected to visit on Tuesday.
