Raiders eye free agent linebacker

With linebacker a definite need heading into the 2006 NFL season, the Oakland Raiders are looking into free agency for a linebacker.

According to a league source, the Oakland Raiders have shown interest in UFA WLB Keith Adams (Eagles).

Adams, 5-foot-11, 223-pounds was a full-time starter for the first time this past season, his fifth year in the league. He earned the nod after a strong end to the 2004 year and recorded 69 tackles but did not make many game-changing plays and was viewed as a disappointment at weakside linebacker.

Adams is, however, a supreme special teams player.

Nicknamed "The Bullet" because of the intensity and speed he brings on the field, and specifically on special teams, Adams led Philadelphia with 30 special teams tackles in 2004.

Based on his last year of action, Adams would best be served in a backup role.

Arizona is also interested in the free agent linebacker.
