Raiders sign George; Waive six

The Oakland Raiders cut six players Monday and added quarterback Jeff George.

The following players were cut by the Oakland Raiders: tight end Marcellus Rivers, offensive lineman Rod Green, quarterback Reggie Robertson, defensive back Raymond Washington, kicker David Kimball and punter Glenn Pakulak.

Meanwhile, they added quarterback Jeff George in time for Monday's practice.

The first overall pick by Indianapolis in 1990, played for the Raiders in 1997-98, starting 23 games and throwing 33 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

George hasn't played since 2001, when he was cut after two games with the Redskins.
