Raiders release six; four to IR

The Raiders continued to trim their roster in order to reach the 75-player limit Tuesday by releasing six more players and placing four others on injured reserve.

Quarterback Kent Smith, wide receivers Rick Gatewood and Burl Toler, tight end Derek Miller, cornerback Dennis Davis and kicker Tim Duncan were all let go by Oakland, one day after the Raiders made their first cuts of the preseason.

On Monday, the Raiders released quarterback Reggie Robertson, tight end Marcellus Rivers, offensive lineman Rod Green, cornerback Raymond Washington, kicker David Kimball and punter Scott Pakulak.

In addition to the cuts announced Tuesday, Oakland also placed running back DeJuan Green, fullback Joe Hall, linebacker Timi Wusu and defensive linemen Michael Quarshie on injured reserve.

The Raiders play at Seattle on Thursday then must remove another 22 players from their roster by Saturday to get down to the 53-man regular season limit.
