Running back LaMont Jordan led all NFL running backs with 70 catches in 2005 and became the eighth Raider in history to rush for 1,000 yards (1,025).

Quarterback Philip Rivers will make his first NFL start.

Running back LaDainian Tomlinson has scored a touchdown in seven of his past eight meetings with Oakland and 22 of the past 28 games overall. Tomlinson is the only player in history to score 10+ touchdowns in each of first five seasons (2001-05). Tomlinson has rushed for at least 140 yards in four of his past six vs. Oakland.

Wide receiver Keenan McCardell (825) needs three catches to surpass Larry Centers (827) for 9th place on NFL's all-time receptions list. Tight end Antonio Gates (1,101) last season posted the most receiving yards by a Charger tight end since Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow (1,172) in 1983.

Linebacker Shawne Merriman led all NFL rookies in '05 with 10.0 sacks. Defensive end Igor Olshansky (2.0) recorded his first career multi-sack game at Oakland (10/16/05).
