The Oakland Raiders got their first win of the season last week and are thirsty for more against a Pittsburgh Steelers, a team in turmoil just a year after winning the Super Bowl.

Club is 27-19-1 in games decided by three points or less under head coach Bill Cowher.

In his past two games, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has completed 32-of-41 passes (78.0 pct.) for 476 yards with five touchdowns for a 154.6 passer rating. Pittsburgh's five passing touchdowns last week versus the Falcons tied a club record, set five times, most recently 11/3/1996 versus St. Louis.

Running back Willie Parker has at least 20 carries in four of the last six games.

With a career high 171 receiving yards last week vs. Atlanta, wide receiver Hines Ward registered his 15th career 100-yd game, trailing only Louis Lipps (16) and John Stallworth (25) in club annals. Also, he recorded a career-high in touchdowns (3). He can extend his consecutive games-with-catch streak to 126 games. Ward became the first player in club history to record at least 600 receptions. Rookie Wide receiver Santonio Holmes recorded career highs in receptions (5), yards (91) and kickoff return yardage (88).

The club stands third in the conference averaging 24.0 points and 228.5 pass yards per game.

Linebacker Joey Porter was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week (Week one, 9/15/02) for his efforts vs. Oakland, registering 10 tackles, 3.0 sacks and two interceptions with 114 return yards.


Quarterback Andrew Walter registered career highs in passing yards (263) and rating (83.1) in victory last week vs. Cardinals.

Running back LaMont Jordan has 120+ rush yards in three of his past four October home games and has seven rushing touchdowns in those four contests. In two of the past three at home, Jordan has rushed for at least 128 yards. Last week against Arizona, running back Justin Fargas recorded career highs in rushing attempts (23) and yards (66). The ground game currently stands second in the AFC, averaging 4.4 yards per attempt.

In his only previous meeting vs. Pittsburgh (12/2/02), wide receiver Randy Moss caught eight passes for 144 yards and one touchdown.

The defense stands first in the NFL allowing 140.5 passing yards per game and fourth in the AFC allowing 273.0 yards per game. The club owns AFC's No. four defense inside 20, allowing ten touchdowns in 25 trips (40.0 pct.).

Defensive end Derrick Burgess has at least 1.0 sack in three of his past four games and leads the club with 5.0. Defensive tackle Terdell Sands notched his first career interception last week. Defense limited Arizona to 1-of-11 (9.0 pct) on 3rd down conversion attempts in week 7 win.

Punter Shane Lechler ranks No. 2 in the NFL with 49.9-yard average.
