While the Raiders' first-team defense had its problems, young defensive linemen Kenyon Coleman and Junior Ioane made an impression. Coleman, Oakland's fifth-round draft choice, recorded a sack for the second straight week. Ioane, a 2000 fourth-round draft pick, has played sparingly but was the Raiders' leading tackler with four and added a sack. Two of those tackles for foe either no gain or lost yardage.
Special teamers make impression on defense
Linebackers Travian Smith and Eric Barton, two special teams standouts, combined for an interception midway through the second quarter off Tennessee backup Neil O'Donnell. Smith pressure O'Donnell off the corner and hit him as he threw the ball. Barton picked off the pass and returned it to the Raider 45.
