Collins to have surgery on knee

Right guard Mo Collins will undergo surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his knee and will be sidelined for at least three weeks. Collins has not practiced with the Raiders since midway through training camp when he first injured his knee, an injury that was originally diagnosed as a bruised knee.

Frank Middleton, who had been projected to be Oakland's starting left guard following the retirement of Steve Wisniewski in the offseason, will move over to a few spots and play right guard Thursday when the Raiders host Arizona in the preseason finale. Former first-round draft pick Matt Stinchcomb will replace Middleton at left guard.

For the last three years Stinchcomb has been slowed by shoulder problems stemming from an injury that took place during his rookie season, but he says he is fine now.

''This is probably the first year where it feels right again,'' said Stinchcomb. ''It feels about like it did before I messed it up.''
