All channels set to Sark?

The Oakland Raiders appeared to be closing in on their next head coach and Steve Sarkisian is at the head of the class.

Things got interesting on Thursday as the Silver and Black invited current USC offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, the son of Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Monte, to Oakland for an interview that included Sarkisian.

Sarkisian, the USC assistant head coach/quarterbacks coach, would love for Kiffin to join him as the offensive coordinator – making a one-two combo of young coaches leading the franchise. Sarkisian, 32, and Kiffin, 31, met with Al Davis before each returned home.

The speculation is Sarkisian has the inside track and Davis was getting a beat on the man he intended to offer the offensive coordinator position to.

San Diego Chargers wide receivers coach James Lofton remains in the mix and may grant him a second interview but at this point Sarkisian appears the only favorite with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels a longshot, unless his team bows out in the playoffs this weekend.
