Raiders re-sign Duane Starks, add quarterback

The Oakland Raiders re-signed defensive back Duane Starks to a one-year deal. The team also added quarterback Jeff Otis to their stable.

Starks joined the Raiders last season but played in only three games, primarily on special teams.

A ten-year veteran, Starks intercepted 20 passes over the first four years of his NFL career but has picked off just five passes since.

His last productive year came in 2004 with the Arizona Cardinals. He intercepted three passes that year and had 58 tackles.

Otis was picked up by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent. The former Columbia signal caller sat out the 2005 season but played in NFL Europe last year where he went 48-of-91 for 560 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions.

The Raiders also released tight end Derek Miller, who was with the team last season but remained inactive for all 16 games.
