Raiders sign versatile lineman

The Oakland Raiders added versatility to their offensive line by adding a former Super Bowl Champion.

The Raiders signed offensive tackle Cornell Green to an undisclosed deal on Friday.

The 6-foot-6, 315-pound Green played three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played in 38 games and started eight over two separate stints with the Bucs.

He is a versatile lineman who can play multiple positions and was a member of the Bucs Super Bowl championship squad in 2002.

Originally entering the league as an undrafted free agent out of Central Florida with the Atlanta Falcons in 1999, Green spent two seasons with the New York Jets and was with the Denver Broncos between stints with Tampa Bay.

All eight of his career starts have come at right tackle but he has subbed in at offensive guard as well.

Green figures to play multiple position on the Raiders line - adding depth to a unit that sorely lacked in 2006.
