Curtis Brown scouting report

The Oakland Raiders signed BYU running back Curtis Brown on Tuesday, adding to their stable of running backs.

Three-year starter awarded All-Conference honors every season since his sophomore campaign. Led the team in rushing as a senior, posting 201/1,010/10 and also the top pass catcher posting 62/565/3. Junior rushing totals were 1,095-yards and 14 touchdowns.

Consistently ball carrier who projects as a third-down back in the NFL. Patient, waits for blocks to develop and runs with good instincts. Finds the cutback lanes, makes defenders miss and falls forward when tackled. Extends his hands and adjusts to make the reception as a pass catcher.

Not fluid or graceful when he must immediately cut back against the grain. Rarely picks up yardage off initial contact. Marginal playing speed.
