Raiders workout receiver

The Oakland Raiders worked out a receiver on Saturday as they look to set their practice squad roster. While several names have been confirmed, there is at least one new player battling to be part of the Silver and Black.

A sixth-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2006 and former Wisconsin Badger, Jonathan Orr was brought in to work out for the Raiders on Saturday.

Released by the Titans on August 26, Orr has a shot at the practice squad, even though Oakland added Chris McFoy to the squad on Sunday.

"I think Wisconsin prepared me very well," Orr said. "There's other aspects to [playing receiver] than just catching and I feel like I had a chance to focus on those a lot and get pretty solid in those. I can get a lot better."

Here is a scouting report on Orr as he came out of Wisconsin:

Full Name: Jonathan Orr School: Wisconsin Pos: WR

Ht: 6-2 Wt: 198 40: 4.45 Year: 5Sr

Bio: Four-year starter who totaled 40/688/8 as a senior. Impacted the program as a freshman, when he started 13 games and produced career-best numbers of 47/842/8.

Pos: Outstanding athlete with great upside for the next level. Quick to top speed and runs away from opponents in the open field. Strong, makes the tough catch in a crowd or out-muscles defenders for the reception. Consistently comes back to the quarterback, working to make himself an available target. Effective blocking downfield for the running game.

Neg: Must improve his route-running. Double-catches a lot of passes and lacks overall consistency.

Analysis: After a sensational freshman season, Orr watched his play level off. Showed signs of life last season and has tremendous size/speed numbers. Could reward a franchise that is patient.
