Fast Facts: A turning point

The Oakland Raiders were in the game until late in the fourth quarter when a blown coverage ended their night.

Raiders record: 0-1

This time last year: 0-1

Time of game: 3 hours, 4 minutes

Attendance: 61,547

Stat worth noting: With his two misses in the first half, former first-round pick Sebastian Janikowski is just 10 for 25 from 50 yards or longer in his career and is in a stretch where he's hit just 3 of 12 from that range.

Stat worth noting II: Jerry Porter didn't make his first reception of the game until 13:00 minutes were left in the third quarter.

Turning point: Blown coverage late in the fourth quarter allowed Shaun McDonald to get free for a 32-yard touchdown pass that put the Lions ahead for good and broke the spirits of the Raider faithful.

""I actually came out of the backfield and I was running a crease right up the middle and no one was on me and I was just hoping Jon (Kitna) saw me and he saw me, and put up a great ball," McDonald said.

Play to remember: Linebacker Kirk Morrison's interception in the end zone in the first quarter stopped a Detroit drive that had begun at the 1 and was one of the few highlights the Raiders had all afternoon.

Play to forget: Any of Janikowski's misses would be a good call here but we'll lay this one on the secondary getting smoked for a 33-yard touchdown from Jon Kitna to Shaun McDonald late in the fourth quarter. Simply unforgivable.
