Asomugha, who injured his knee during the Raiders' loss to Houston, went through all of the individual drills and took some work during team drills but was held out of others. He is listed as questionable on the Raiders' injury report.
With back-up Fabian Washington also questionable -- he missed his third straight practice Friday -- Oakland could be forced to activate rookie John Bowie. A fourth-round draft pick this year, Bowie has yet to play in the regular season.
"John really had a bunch of injuries if you go all through his past and stuff, so I think he's finally getting a feel for things," Kiffin said. "He's stayed healthy since we had him. There's potential there. There is a scenario here where he could be playing this week, with those two guys having issues. We'll find out. Maybe both of them play, maybe one of them plays. But he could end up playing for us this week."
Defensive tackle Warren Sapp also returned to practice after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. He is listed as probable.
The news wasn't all good, however. Wide receiver Jerry Porter was held out of Friday's practice after complaining of soreness in his knee.
"He came in this morning (and) said his knee was bothering him," Kiffin said. "So we're taking a look at it."
Backup center Jake Grove also did not practice. He is doubtful to play against the Bears.
