Raiders free agency outlook: Justin Fargas

The Oakland Raiders head into free agency with three quality running backs, but their best tailback from 2007 is slated for the open market. Will they bring him back?

Justin Fargas

2007: Emerged as the Raiders best offensive player after starting the year as a backup before a knee injury cut his season short.

Fargas was outstanding at times but more importantly was a consistent force and finished with 1,009 yards.

Grade: B+

Market interest level: High

Raiders interest level: Medium to high

Fargas is a favorite of Al Davis, who loves the speed and quickness that Fargas brings to the offense. After what Fargas did this past season, it's hard to believe the organization has changed its feelings, either.

Still, it wouldn't be that much of a surprise if Fargas signs elsewhere. Given that the team had three different backs thrive as starters, there could be a feeling in Oakland that it won't matter who is in the backfield next year.

And since the Raiders will be picking with no worse than the fourth overall selection in the draft, there's always the possibility of the team picking Arkansas running back Darren McFadden.

Nevertheless, Fargas is a player the Raiders will remain in contact with over the coming weeks. He'll most definitely test the free agent waters and should attract a lot of attention because of the lack of star quality overall available in the off-season. Fargas' history of injuries will be a red flag for some.
