Thompson Signs with Broncos

The Denver Broncos signed seventh-round pick CB Syd'Quan Thompson, the team announced. Thompson was selected 225th overall of the 2010 NFL Draft from the University of California...

According to a league source, Syd'Quand Thompson signed a four-year, $1.85 million deal with roughly $57,000 guaranteed.

Thompson (5-foot-9, 187 pounds) earned first-team All-Pacific-10 Conference honors during each of his final two years at California, where he set a school record by starting all 52 possible games during his four-year career.

He also set the school mark with 36 passes broken up in addition to posting seven interceptions (204 yds.), 257 tackles (166 solo) and 20 tackles for a loss (65 yds.) for the Golden Bears.

Thompson, because Denver is deep at cornerback, figures to land on their practice squad this fall.
