OSU Instant Impact: Demetrius Knox

Another of the members of the Ohio State 2014 recruiting class has faxed his letter of intent to the Buckeye coaching staff. Demetrius Knox is officially a Buckeye.

Demetrius Knox

SCHOOL: Fort Worth All Saints Episcopal

SIZE: 6-foot-4, 305-pounds

POSITION RANKING: Number-seven guard

SCOUTING REPORT: Knox had to deal with some injuries as a junior, mostly a lower back injury which cost him playing time. Plays tackle in high school, but will likely be a guard in college. He has a nice frame for adding more weight and is very athletic for an OL. He moves really well, especially laterally. Long arms and quick feet. Will like to see how he develops and if he can stay healthy in 2013. Has upside but needs to develop more consistency snap to snap.

WHY Ohio State: "I have an outstanding relationship with Coach (Tom) Herman," he told Scout. "He's probably my favorite coach on the staff. He had a lot to do with my decision. He's definitely given Ohio State a presence in Texas, which has been huge. Coach (Ed) Warinner is a great offensive line coach and I feel like I have a lot to learn from him."

"Everyone tries to make Coach (Urban) Meyer out to be this awful person who doesn't care about his players," he continued. "As time went by I actually started to believe that. I knew I needed to firm up and find out everything for myself. Once I was able to form my own opinion, I was able to see that it was totally false. He's a players' coach and one of the best there's ever been."
