St. Louis Rams make roster moves

The St. Louis Rams promoted a running back from the practice squad on Friday.

The St. Louis Rams announced two roster moves on Friday afternoon.

With running back Tre Mason officially questionable with an ankle injury, the Rams promoted running back Trey Watts to the 53-man active roster and released safety Christian Bryant

Watts, 24, appeared in 14 regular season games a year ago after making the Rams as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Tulsa. He played well this preseason but after serving a four-game suspension for substances of abuse, the Rams released the young running back.

Bryant was one of the Rams’ four seventh-round picks in 2014, but spent his entire rookie season on the team’s practice squad.

The Ohio State product was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster and saw special teams duty in the past two games, against the Cardinals and Packers, with other players out with injuries.
