St. Louis Rams' Aaron Donald, Johnny Hekker Named First-Team All-Pro

Rookie running back Todd Gurley also recognized with second-team All-Pro selection.

The St. Louis Rams had three players recognized when the Associated Press released its All-Pro teams on Friday afternoon.

Defensive tackle Aaron Donald and punter Johnny Hekker were both selected to the AP’s first-team All-Pro squad. Rookie running back Todd Gurley earned second-team honors.

All three players were selected for the 2016 Pro Bowl.

Donald, the defensive rookie of the year a season ago, earned All-Pro recognition for the first time after racking up 11 sacks, becoming just the third defensive tackle in franchise history to reach double digits in sacks.

Hekker has now been recognized three times with All-Pro honors, including twice (2013 and 2015) on the first team. He led the NFL this season in punts (96), gross punting average (47.9), net punting average (43.7) and punts inside the opponents’ 20-yard line (41). He was a second-team All-Pro selection a year ago.

Gurley, the Rams’ first-round draft pick (No. 10 overall), finished third in the NFL in rushing in his debut season despite only playing 13 games. He rushed for 1,106 yards, averaging of 4.8 yards per carry, and 10 touchdowns.
