With the free agency period officially underway, the Los Angeles Rams have quickly become one of the busier teams in the league.
According to Rich Hammond of the Orange County Register, the Rams have decided on Thursday to part ways with a couple of key veteran players in tight end Lance Kendricks and defensive end Eugene Sims.
Rams released TE Lance Kendricks, DL Eugene Sims and, as previously noted, C Tim Barnes today, per team source.— Rich Hammond (@Rich_Hammond) March 10, 2017
Los Angeles had also released center Tim
Kendricks was selected by the Rams in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft and was quite productive in his six seasons with the team. His 17 career receiving touchdowns are second all-time in franchise history behind just Damone Johnson. His departure now opens up way to Tyler Higbee getting the prime opportunity to garner the starting job and pick a much larger role in the passing game heading into his second year.
