Rams' 2017 regular season schedule released

The Rams have another stacked schedule of opponents for the 2017 regular season.

The NFL on Thursday evening released the 2017 regular season schedule for the Los Angeles Rams

The Rams will open up the season with a pair of home games at the Los Angeles Coliseum beginning on Sept. 10 against the Indianapolis Colts followed by facing new head coach Sean McVay's former team in the Washington Redskins on Sept. 17. McVay had served as the offensive coordinator for the Redskins for the last three seasons.

Los Angeles then takes the road for the first time in the season in a Thursday Nigth Football matchup on Sept. 21 against the San Francisco 49ers, who are their first NFC West division opponent on the schedule. They face the defending NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 1 on the road.

The Rams get their second divisional opponent in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 8 back at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Followed by an away game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Oct. 15. Los Angeles will then head to London take on the Arizona Cardinals at Twickenham stadium on Oct. 22. It marks their third time overseas in London since the league began doing so in 2007.

Following their Week 8 bye, the Rams will play the New York Giants on the road on Nov. 5. The two teams faced off last season in London with the Giants getting the upper hand in a 17-10 win. Los Angeles then has a matchup lined up at home against the Houston Texans on Nov. 12.

The Rams take on the Minnesota Vikings on the road on Nov. 19. The two played each other last August in the preseason at the Vikings' new stadium, which was the second football game ever played at the arena. Los Angeles then heads back home to face the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 26. Last season, the Saints cruised to a blowout 49-21 in a game that Jared Goff threw his first three touchdowns of his NFL career.

The final five games of the season will all be played in the month of December with the Rams taking the road three times. This includes their final three divisional games with two coming on the road with Dec. 3 against the Cardinals, and Dec. 17 against the Seahawks. The final road game is on Christmas Eve where they face the Tennessee Titans.

The two other matchups will see Los Angeles play the Philadelphia Eagles on Dec. 10, which sets up a first meeting between the first and second overall picks in the 2016 NFL Draft in Goff and Carson Wentz. The Rams will close the season on New Year's Eve against the 49ers, which the Rams lost both meetings last year.

In total, the schedule includes facing four playoff teams in the Cowboys, Seahawks, Texans, and Giants. Los Angeles has just one Thursday night matchup, and no Monday night games.
