Haslett Talked to Incognito on Fan Comments

Rams Coach Jim Haslett talked Friday about how he feels about St. Louis fans, on if he talked to Richie Incognito, on if Richie Incognito's comment was bad to say since the team's record is 2-8, and on if the team did anything different to get ready this week.

(On how he feels about the St. Louis fans)
"That's getting a little bit overblown, these fans are awesome. I remember when I came here playing before I was coaching here and how hard it was to play because of the fans. Obviously we were coming in to play a good football team and we're struggling right now, but we need our fans. I know the loyal fans out there come to the game and support us. But, I know how hard it is to play here when you're playing well and the place is rocking. The trend now with Chicago fans coming, we had some Dallas fans here, we had some Giants fans here that's kind of the trend in the NFL right now. You got teams in bigger cities, bigger markets that have a great drawing and a great following and they get tickets, so that's just the way it is. That happens at a lot of places. I'm not worrying about what happens in the stands, I'm actually worrying about what happens on the field and that's the most important thing for us."

(On if he talked to G Richie Incognito)
"Yeah, I talked to Richie. I don't think he means anything by it. He wants us to win the game, that's number one, and he wants the fans to be loud to support us. I don't think he means anything by it, I really don't, but you guys will talk to him."

(On if G Richie Incognito's comment was bad to say since the team's record is 2-8)
"No, I think it's bad to say when you're 8-2 to be honest with you. These fans are awesome. I think it's a great place. I've said this before, I love this city. I like the fans here and they'll support this team. Obviously, I'd be disappointed too if we were 2-8. I'd have a hard time coming out watching us also probably. That's just the way it is."

(On if the team did anything different to get ready this week)
"I liked our practices this week. I know somebody wrote the other day that it was a little more physical, maybe it was. (QB) Marc's (Bulger) throwing the ball well and guys are doing the right things. They're learning how to practice and they're doing a great job of that and it has to translate to that on Sunday, you have to take it to Sunday now. We're losing something the last couple weeks, when we're flying or whatever, we're losing something on Saturday. We'll play well, we'll go out there and give it everything we got this week."
