BALTIMORE RAVENS' REPORT CARD

Quarterback: C-plus Joe Flacco got off to a rough start, holding the football too long on a sack and fumble and throwing an interception. However, he ultimately settled down and made some important throws as he did enough to win the game. Tight end Todd Heap dropped a potential touchdown.

Running back: C-minus

Pro Bowl runner Ray Rice got stonewalled by the Jets' stingy run defense, and his longest run was only seven yards. Willis McGahee scored the Ravens' lone touchdown, but also fumbled in the red zone. It was tough sledding against a good Jets defense.

Receiver: B-plus

Three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Anquan Boldin lived up to high expectations, catching seven passes for 110 yards. Tight end Todd Heap was a threat, catching six passes for 72 yards. However, he dropped a touchdown. The Jets' cornerbacks had few answers for this group, especially rookie Kyle Wilson and veteran Antonio Cromartie.

Offensive line: C

The Ravens didn't dominate at the point of attack, but improved their pass protection as the game went on to give Joe Flacco enough time to pick out his targets. The Ravens reconfigured their lineup, shifting Marshal Yanda to right tackle and installing Chris Chester at right guard. There were a few rough moments, especially early in the game.

Defensive line: B-plus

Pro Bowl defensive tackle Haloti Ngata delivered a pivotal sack, slamming Mark Sanchez to the ground in the fourth quarter. He recorded three other tackles. Shonne Greene had nowhere to run inside with Kelly Gregg and Ngata controlling the line of scrimmage.

Linebacker: A-minus

All-Pro middle linebacker Ray Lewis delivered some intimidating hits. Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs proved that last year's sluggishness is behind him with a half-sack, six tackles, including four solos. New starter Jameel McClain held up his end of the bargain with six tackles.

Secondary: B-plus

Mark Sanchez struggled against the Ravens' tight pass coverage as Fabian Washington and Chris Carr both had strong games against Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery. Sanchez couldn't even pass for 100 yards.

Special teams: C-minus

Billy Cundiff booted two short field goals, but the Ravens had issues in punt coverage against shifty Jim Leonhard (two returns, 54 yards). Also, Tom Zbikowski made a poor decision to run backwards near the goal line and was almost tackled for a safety
