Quarterback: C-plus Joe Flacco withstood pressure, hitting tight end Todd Heap with a nine-yard score in the final minutes that nearly won the game. However, he didn't begin the game with any kind of rhythm. He eventually orchestrated three TD drives with scoring tosses. He was intercepted once in the third quarter, setting up a 51-yard field goal.

Running back: C

The Ravens didn't involve Pro Bowl runner Ray Rice to any great extent, essentially abandoning the run after falling behind. When given opportunities, Rice was effective and looked quick on the Georgia Dome turf. Rice picked up steam in the second half.

Receiver: B-minus

In the second half, the Ravens' size and experience outside were both positive factors. Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason both caught touchdown passes in the red zone along with tight end Todd Heap. Like Flacco, there wasn't enough production when the game was being contested.

Offensive line: C-minus

Joe Flacco was sacked twice and hit three times. They opened up some big holes for Ray Rice, but the entire game plan appeared too disjointed to sustain much continuity. The Ravens had trouble with defensive end John Abraham. It wasn't a good game overall for the offensive line, particularly in the first half.

Defensive line: C-plus

Primarily playing rush end, Terrell Suggs sacked Matt Ryan twice and harassed him on a fairly consistent basis. In his most extensive playing time yet, rookie nose guard Terrence "Mount' Cody recorded five tackles and helped contain the Falcons' traditionally strong power running game. If the Ravens had more of a pass rush, this would be a much better defense.

Linebacker: C-minus

Middle linebacker Ray Lewis was fine against the run, stonewalling Falcons bruising running back Michael "The Turner" Burner. However, he wasn't much of a factor in pass coverage. Whether it was Dannell Ellerbe, Jameel McClain or Tavares Gooden, Lewis didn't get much from his supporting cast. Jarret Johnson is having a quiet season and is nursing nagging injuries. The pass coverage was suspect.

Secondary: D

They struggled to contain Falcons star wide receiver Roddy White even though he was playing on a gimpy knee. He caught 12 passes for Josh Wilson displayed heart, coming back in the game after what initially looked like a serious leg or knee injury. Dawan Landry got trucked by Falcons running back Jason Snelling in the second quarter on a touchdown catch on a swing pass. Ed Reed usually guessed wrong when it came to defending Matt Ryan. Ryan picked them apart, especially on third downs. The tackling must improve and the blitzing is far too predictable.

Special teams: C-minus.

Sam Koch averaged nearly 50 yards per punt. David Reed returned two kickoffs for 50 yards. However, Lardarius Webb lost a fumble on a punt return. And the Falcons' Eric Weems had a 16-yard punt return and a 33-yard kickoff return. As usual, Billy Cundiff's kickoffs were strong.
