BALTIMORE RAVENS' REPORT CARD

Quarterback: B-plus BR> Joe Flacco completed 24 of 33 passes for 301 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions for a 110.8 quarterback rating. However, he missed some open receivers and hit a lull in a quiet second half after a strong start. The Panthers' defense is far from formidable, and Flacco distributed the ball to eight different targets

Running back: C-minus

Ray Rice ran well after the catch, turning six receptions into 66 yards. However, he rushed for only 65 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries against the NFL's 27th-ranked run defense. Fullback Le'Ron McClain didn't fare well against undersized middle linebacker Jon Beason.

Receiver: C-plus

Far too many dropped passes, including one from usually surehanded Derrick Mason. T.J. Houshmandzadeh surfaced from witness protection (kidding!) to catch two passes for 79 yards and his first touchdown since the Pittsburgh game. Todd Heap caught five passes for 69 yards. Anquan Boldin lost a fumble and Heap also fumbled once.

Offensive line: C

Joe Flacco was sacked three times. There weren't huge holes for the backs to roam through. Tony Moll did a solid job at right guard starting in place of Chris Chester, who was out due to a bout with cellulitis. The Ravens need to get to the second level and block downfield.

Defensive line: C

Terrence Cody got chop blocked on Mike Goodson's 45-yard cutback run. Rush end Terrell Suggs had one sack and three tackles for losses, his second consecutive impressive performance. Paul Kruger recorded his first NFL sack on a spin move. Kelly Gregg had no tackles. It was a quieter game than usual for Haloti Ngata, too.

Linebacker: C

Mike Goodson rushed for 120 yards on 22 carries, averaging 5.5 per run. He also caught five passes. Middle linebacker Ray Lewis had a game-high 10 tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown, but isn't making enough hits in the backfield or at the line of scrimmage. Jameel McClain had a sack, his first of the season.

Secondary: C-plus

Ed Reed intercepted the 50th pass of his career and the fourth of the season, lateraling it to Dawan Landry for a touchdown. However, journeyman Brian St. Pierre threw it right to him. Josh Wilson got burnt again, allowing an 88-yard touchdown. Quarterbacks are avoiding Chris Carr. St. Pierre completed 13 of 28 passes for 173 yards, two interceptions and a 48.7 rating.

Special teams: B-plus

Billy Cundiff booted three field goals and had four touchbacks. David Reed had a breakthrough game on kickoff returns, busting an 84-yarder and averaging 45 yards. Lardarius Webb averaged 8.2 yards on five punt returns, but had to deal with excellent punting from Jason Baker. This would have been an A grade if not for the kickoff team allowing Captain Munnerlyn to return one 64 yards
