Phillip Livas visited the Ravens last week

OWINGS MILLS -- Louisiana Tech wide receiver and kick returner Phillip Livas visited the Baltimore Ravens last week. Livas had a strong showing at the New Orleans Saints' local prospect workout. He caught punts and kickoffs and performed well in wide receiver drills.

Livas ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds at his campus Pro Day workout. Livas tied the NCAA record for punts and kickoff returns for touchdowns with eight, also breaking the school record with 2,758 career kick return yards.

A two-time first-team All-Western Athletic Conference selection as a return man, he was voted second-team all-conference as a junior. He was also named Independence Bowl Player of the Game three years ago. He caught 113 career passes for 1,582 yards and seven touchdowns. Livas rushed for 811 career yards and four touchdowns.

He averaged 13.7 yards per punt return with four touchdowns.

And he averaged 28.8 yards per kickoff return with four touchdowns. Livas was named the Matt Stover Special Teams Player of the Year, an award named after the former Ravens Pro Bowl kicker who attended Louisiana Tech.
